Washington Post columnist Al Kamen wrote on Wednesday that “If, as appears likely now, (Republican) Rep. Mike Castle wins that race (to finish Vice President Joe Biden’s U.S. Senate term in Delaware), he will be sworn in when the Senate comes back into its unavoidable lame-duck session after the election. Thus the Democrats would immediately be down to 58.”
Well…maybe…kinda…sorta.
First, while there would, in fact, be 58 Democrats, that doesn’t mean there would be only 58 Democrat votes. Since Mike Castle is the most liberal Republican in the entire United States House of Representatives he would likely be every bit as reliable on critical government-growing votes as any elected Democrat.
But secondly, Kamen’s statement assumes that the liberal Mike Castle hasn’t cut a deal and would, immediately upon election, “pull a Specter” and change parties. Considering Castle’s consistent liberal voting record, such a scenario is far from wild speculation.
The only way for Republicans to avoid any chance of either or both of those circumstances occurring is to vote for conservative candidate Christine O’Donnell in the GOP primary on September 14th.

Just wondering when the campaign will begin informing GOP voters about Castle’s Illegal Alien support record? Such as in-state tuition, amnesty, sanctuary cities, etc.
Delaware needs to wake up and elect a true conservative and throw Castle out who is a committed Liberal. Please check how he has voted and you will see he has voted mainly with the Obama Regime
Mike Castle is a withering disappointment to all true conservatives in Delaware. The leftward shift of the electorate in 2006 and 2008 took Castle along for the ride. Like all politicians who have no moral compass, Castle is a poll-driven, flip-flopper and his recent voting record demonstrates that as long as we have Republicans like Mike Castle, who needs Democrats.

Restore the COLA that the Obama Administration took from the seniors?
Are you in favor of Repealing Obamacare and would you strongly try to have it repealed?
What would you try to do to help our unemployment and economic problems?
Are you in favor of big Government and wasteful spending?
I want a politician who will face the reality that they work for the people not for the party or loyalty to the president especially that racist, socialist loving fan of Chavez,Castro and Stalin, a president who I think is still a Muslim bent on destroying America. Are you that person?
I want a politician who will push Congress for term limits. I don’t want a career politician. Are you that person?
I do believe Mike Castle is now more a liberal Democrat than a liberal Republican. He voted with the Democrats more than once.
